Conferences
The Hinckley Institute of Politics and the Campaign Legal Center co-host
an annual conference on campaign finance issues. Experts from across
the nation come together and discuss future improvements to campaign
finance regulations. Past participants include Senator John McCain (R-AZ)
and Commissioner Scott Thomas of the Federal Election Commission. The
conference is held in January on the University of Utah campus.
Redistricting Conference
On April 3-5 the Hinckley Institute of Politics hosted the premier national conference on political redistricting. Participants included representatives from the Campaign Legal Center, Brookings Institute, Common Cause, Center for Democracy and Citizenship, US PIRG and League of Women Voters. The conference addressed redistricting principles and their potential implementation in various states as well as on the national level.
