In commemoration of the new Hinckley Institute website, we selected Hinckley Institute Director Kirk Jowers as our former Hinckley intern spotlight.
Kirk graduated from the University of Utah in 1992 with five Hinckley internships and a Harry S. Truman Scholarship. He attended Harvard Law and graduated cum laude in June of 1995.
He co-founded the Campaign Legal Center in Washington, DC, and served as its Director of Academic Affairs and Deputy General Consul from 2001-2008.
When Kirk L. Jowers agreed to head the Hinckley Institute of Politics seven years ago, he made an immeasurable sacrifice. While he still maintains his partnership at the prominent DC law firm, Caplin and Drysdale, he dedicates the majority of his time and energies to the Hinckley Institute of Politics and to University of Utah students.
