Republican National Committee
The Republican Leadership Initiative (RLI) Fellowship is an extraordinary learning opportunity for young people who are interested in partnering with the UT GOP and the Republican National Committee to work for the Republican presidential nominee during the 2016 Presidential Election.
Applicants should be highly motivated, passionate, and dedicated. RLI fellows will complete a 12-week unpaid program that will immerse them in the life and culture of a campaign field organizer. Fellows will work 15 hours per week. Most of the work will be completed outside the office, but students will meet regularly with their coordinator at the UT GOP HQ. Upon successful completion of the 12-week program, Fellows will be given an opportunity to deploy to a presidential battleground state and work for 6 months as a member of our full-time staff.
RFI Field Program Duties
The RLI Fellowship Program is meant to train and test potential staffers on skills that all Republican staffers will need to know for the 2016 election and for a potential career in politics. Each week, Fellows will be given different assignments to develop their organizing abilities and will work alongside their assigned supervisor to demonstrate their knowledge of the material.
In this Fellowship program, students will gain
- Understanding of the newest organizing techniques used by the Republican National Committee and Presidential campaigns
- Proficiency in management of volunteers
- Familiarity with GOP Data Center, a software for statistical analysis and graphical presentation of data, and other digital tools
- Experience in political organizing
