About the Institute

Robert H. Hinckley was a remarkable person who led by example and served his country well. Mr. Hinckley was the founder of the Hinckley Institute of Politics as well as a dedicated public servant in the Roosevelt and Truman Administrations. This graduate scholarship was established to encourage students in following his example of public service and political involvement.

RequirementS
One $3,500 scholarship will be awarded to a male graduate student who has significant experience in community involvement and commitment to a career in public service.

APPLICATION MATERIALS

  • Cover page that includes name, social security number and contact information
  • Transcripts from all universities or colleges attended
  • Indication of any honors or awards received (academic or other)
  • Record of formal educational training, academic aspirations and career goals
  • Statement describing past involvement and future goals in public service
  • Two or more letters of recommendation addressed to the Hinckley Institute
  • Recent writing sample related to politics (Please do not exceed 10 pages)
  • Other information as desired
