The Harry
S. Truman Scholarship Foundation was created by Congress as a federal
memorial to our 33rd President. The Truman Foundation awards $30,000
scholarships to 75-80 junior-level students at four-year colleges and
universities.

Albright is talking about the 2006 Truman scholars -- a group of 75 young men and women she believes are destined for success.
Requirements
The Truman Foundation seeks candidates who:
- Have extensive records of public and community service.
- Are committed
to careers in government or elsewhere in public service.
- Have outstanding
leadership potential and communication skills.
- Scholars selected are required to work in public service for at least three of the seven years following graduate studies.
Students may not apply directly for the Truman Scholarship; they must
apply through the Hinckley Institute of Politics. The University of
Utah is a Truman Honor Institution because of its considerable success
in nominating students. 24 students from the University of Utah have
been named Truman Scholars.
Application FOrm & Deadline
- In order to obtain access to the application, the Hinckley Institute must submit your name to the Truman Foundation. Please e-mail your full name, e-mail address, and complete home address to cmcbeth@hinckley.utah.edu to gain access to the application. After we have submitted your name to the Truman Foundation you will receive an e-mail with instructions for accessing the application.
