CFHI provides an opportunity where interns learn about providing health education in the state of Oaxaca Mexico, a rural mexican state where it is estimated that 50% of inhabitants have no access to primary healthcare. This region is distinct from the rest of Mexico, with over 16 different ethnic groups, each with their own unique language and culture.
Interns help with providing healthcare education to disadvantaged communities as well as, assisting staff and professionals in clinics, hospitals, and local nonprofits that provide services for low income communities. Interns are tasked with engaging with local communities and fulfilling the day to day administrative tasks of the organization.
