September Alumni Spotlight: Kelsey Paulding

Kelsey Paulding graduated from the University of Utah in the spring of 2018 with a BS in finance and a BA in international studies. As an undergraduate, she participated in a global Hinckley internship with the European Parliament in the summer of 2017.

Paulding’s internship with the European Parliament led to a full-time position within the same office as a policy aide for Syed Kamall MEP. She now works on economic and finance policy issues through her work on the ECON (Economics and Monetary Affairs) and INTA (International Trade) committees and implementation of policy initiatives surrounding financial-tech and financial services.

When asked how the Hinckley Institute impacted her life, Paulding answered, “The guidance I received from the Hinckley community has proven invaluable in life after college.  While I received amazing opportunities through Hinckley to gain international political experience, the relationships I built and advice I was given have been the most valuable to me. Specifically, I have always been interested in living and working abroad. Hinckley gave me the right tools, resources, and the occasional nudge out of my comfort zone to find a job in Europe after graduation and grow both personally and professionally.”
