Alumni Spotlight

Anna Edelman’s professional journey has been deeply shaped by her experiences with the Hinckley Institute of Politics. As a student, Edelman completed a local internship with Global Pathways, supporting international students on campus, and a global internship in Cajamarca, Peru with Eagle Condor Humanitarian. There, she helped manage education and community development programs in a rural setting—an experience that expanded her global perspective and deepened her commitment to service.

I learned how to work with people from all backgrounds and how to collaborate on important, real-world projects…I gained critical insight into the nonprofit and government sectors and solidified my desire to serve others and be part of organizations that help solve the world's most pressing challenges.

Edelman graduated from the U in 2013 with a BA in International Studies. Inspired by her global internship, which helped her discover a deep love for nonprofit organizations, Edelman then pursued a Master of Public Administration, graduating in 2015.

After earning her MPA, Edelman returned to the Hinckley Institute as a Global Program Assistant and later as Outreach Coordinator—a role that further fueled her passion for education and student development.

Working with students and the team at the Hinckley Institute has been an absolute highlight of my career.

Today, Edelman is a successful  Associate Director of Annual Giving and Stewardship at the University of Utah, raising essential funds for student scholarships. Her current role combines her strengths in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and international education and she credits the Hinckley Institute as the starting point for her thriving career path.
