Hinckley Institute

Home Politics

Robert H. Hinckley founded The Hinckley Institute of Politics in 1965 with the mission of introducing students to civic life. Since its founding, the Hinckley Institute has proudly carried forward the tradition of political engagement and expertise. Routinely called upon for insight, the Hinckley Institute leadership team values and honors this esteemed role.

"I appeal to you to see that the center of the spectrum is vital, that politicians are crucial to democracy, and that our major parties are worthy of your support. Go into politics and make those parties dynamic instruments of self-government."

In addition to facilitating countless opportunities for students to pursue political involvement, the Hinckley Institute operates distinguished resources for information on public policy and opinion and also serves as a resource for media and journalists.
